About Trucks: F-100 Supernationals Coverage

About.com    Trucks
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Dale Wickell
I spent some time last weekend at the F-100 Supernationals, an annual event in Knoxville, Tennessee. The show's focus is on Ford trucks, but sponsors have included a category for Ford performance cars, too.

In the Spotlight
F-100 Supernationals
The first of several Supernationals photo galleries. This one focuses on some of the 1953-1956 trucks that were on display at the show -- a nice batch of heavily modified pickups, rat rods and a couple of panel trucks.

What was your first Ford F-Series pickup truck? Was it a model from way back in Ford's history, or a contemporary pickup? Did the truck look as good as it ran, or was it like mine -- with a body that had seen better days?

About Womens Issues: Washington, D.C. -- The Final Frontier?

About.com    Womens Issues
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Linda Lowen
Maybe it was the massive ad campaign for the new "Star Trek" film that got me thinking. If space was the final frontier for Captain James T. Kirk, what might it be for women? (Hillary's presidential campaign alluded to the White House.) Although Washington's got a long way to go to achieve gender equity, the fact that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being roughed up 'just like one of the guys' on the waterboarding issue -- and that the next Supreme Court nominee will likely be a woman -- are indicators this particular frontier is close to being crossed.

OPPO Digital BDP-83 Blu-ray Disc Player Product Review
The OPPO BDP-83 is a feature-packed Blu-ray Disc Player that is also an excellent performer. Besides Blu-ray disc playback, the BDP-83 also provides excellent 1080p upscaling of standard DVDs using Anchor Bay VRS technology. Also, other features, such as SACD and DVD-Audio playback, front and rear mounted USB ports for importing images, video, and music from flash drives, add great audio and video flexibility. Although having a somewhat higher price tag than many players, the OPPO BDP-83 takes Blu-ray Disc Player performance and flexibility to the highest level. To find out if the OPPO BDP-83 is right for you, check out my Short and Full Reviews, as well as a supplementary Photo Profile and Video Performance Tests. 3) Sony DAV-IS10 Mico Speaker Home Theater System
The trend towards compact home theater-in-a-box systems has just reached its zenith with Sony's DAV-IS10. The main feature of this system that stands out are its palm-sized satellite speakers. Also, the 5.1 Channel receiver/DVD player combo is also compact in relation to other systems, but the Subwoofer is still fairly large. Despite the small physical presence of this system, the sound quality is better than you might expect. However, this is not a system for a large room. If you are looking for system with extremely small speakers, for use in a small room, I would definitely put this one on the list.
