About.com   Job Searching
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Alison Doyle
NotchUp is a site with a different twist on job searching. Instead of searching for employers online and submitting your resume to apply for a job, job seekers can create a profile on NotchUp and set an interview price.

NotchUp
There isn't much that comes along that's new in the world of job searching, but NotchUp has certainly approached it from a different angle. Instead of searching for employers online and submitting your resume to apply for a job, job seekers can create a profile on NotchUp and set an interview price. Participating employers (including Google, Yahoo, and Baraccuda) pay candidates to interview.

About 4-Wheel Drive / Offroading: Gasoline could drop 50 cents/gallon by spring

About.com   4-Wheel Drive / Offroading
In the Spotlight | More Topics |
  from Jim Walczak
Getting to your off-road destination could be a little cheaper this spring if a recent Reuters report holds true. I can't say that it would bother me if those oil tycoons choke on some of that surplus. Also, check out that laptop mount accessory for your ride. If you work from your 4-wheeldrive, off-road vehicle - or heck even a car, this little gadget will make your life in the mobile office a whole lot easier. It's February and the trails are calling my name. See you on out there!

Turn your ride into an office
I work out of my car (and Jeep) more often than I would care to admit. I've got the big 400 watt converter to keep my laptop running smoothly for hours and hours. Most of the time I've got the laptop / notebook (you say tomato I say... laptop) thrown on the passenger seat. That of course becomes a bigger concern if someone is unlucky enough to travel with me....read more

About Today: What Will You Be Wearing?

About.com   Today

  from Jen Hubley
If designers at New York Fashion Week have anything to say about it, you'll be wearing a ton of blue next fall. I'm OK with this personally. There's a shade of blue for everyone, and at least it's some color.

New York Fashion Week Blog
There was actually a lot of color this week, some of it easier to wear than others. I was relieved, since the word had been to expect a lot of gray and black. There was some of that, but we won't be stuck dressing like characters in Beetlejuice necessarily.

What Is New York Fashion Week?
The only reason Fashion Week really matters is because the stuff you see parading down the runway eventually winds up - minus peacock feathers and ruffles the size of your head - in a store near you.

Meet the Designers
In recent years, designers have become celebrities. Personally, I think this is due to the one-two punch of Project Runway and Target. There's no escaping designers anymore. They're everywhere!
